Complete system from Navision Attain and Biz Talk
Neoplan Göppel GmbH
“The desire for constant innovation” is one guarantee of success for the Augsburg-based Markus Göppel GmbH + Co, specialists for bodies and vehicle bodywork, founded in 1923.
The takeover of the Thüringian coach manufacturers, Neoplan Omnibus GmbH, at the beginning of 2004 fits perfectly into this philosophy. The aim of this move is to optimally link up the potential and expertise of both production sites.
Business management complete system from Fritz & Macziol
This traditional company also shows great innovative ability for the development of internal processes. For controlling all administrative tasks, Göppel GmbH has been relying on the integrated business management complete system, Navision, since 1999 – designed and implemented at that time by Fritz & Macziol.
In order to obtain the greatest possible synergy effects from the merger with Neoplan, further conditions have now to be fulfilled:
- continuous process systematics in core areas of the company i.e. from vehicle planning and production up to sale of spare parts
- a firmly defined and effective sharing of tasks between the production sites
- corporate planning must be depicted 1:1 in the ERP solution used
Building on the experience gained from the first implementation in Augsburg, Fritz & Macziol developed a concept for linking up the plants which superbly solved the available task setting and, in some aspects, goes beyond the basic concept. Two identical, independent ERP installations form the basis of the common system which is realised with Navision Attain. As installation platform, Windows 2000 on a IBM xSeries 235 server was chosen.
Communication between the systems is carried out with help of the Microsoft BizTalk Server. Extremely flexible, the solution grows along with the company and allows extensive adjustments to changed business processes. Apart from the automatic processing of defined operational sequences, it simultaneously guarantees the consistency of all important data in both companies and ensures that friction losses are avoided to a large extent by data co-ordination.
