Lotus Notes is the undisputed industry standard for development and distribution of groupware applications. Apart from having 90 million users worldwide, the broad OS support also provides a high-degree of application investment security on this basis.

A content management system, on the basis of Lotus Notes, is a logical development from the field of application as well as the technical possibilities of Lotus Notes and the Domino Server. Each web content management system requires authorisation controls and workflow, a client for data entry and, apart from an editorial server for data control, ultimately a web server for publishing purposes.

The Lotus Notes´ client, often already installed throughout the company for messaging, PIM as well as internal applications and has been accepted by the users, serves as a further Domino application for domino webware & newsware for use by your co-workers. Using the application is extremely simple: forward the database link via e-mail – that´s all!

The Domino server, where the application is installed, also functions as the WebServer which processes the web application for your web user in the browser. If the WebServer is required at another location, configuration and maintenance are simple because the database can easily be replicated via the available Domino infrastructure.

Every functioning CMS requires a large number of structured communication channels between the web user, author, editorial staff, the head of the editorial department and office work processing. For this, Lotus Notes provides the infrastructure comprising of authorisation administration and workflow messaging which were implemented on the basis of these requirements.
